Media Buying and Media Partnerships

Media Buying and Media Partnerships

Media investment and partnerships guided by objectives

Buying advertising space and building a media partnership means deciding where, how and with what contribution to reach relevant audiences. An attractive price, a large number of impressions or a prominent partner is not enough to make a project consistent with objectives.

We help companies and organisations plan and manage advertising investment and collaborations with publishers, media outlets and partners. We select channels, formats and opportunities around audiences, messages and budgets, connecting buying, editorial projects and distribution.

The work may cover advertising placements, special features, in-depth content, formats and co-productions. These activities do not replace media relations or imply independent journalistic coverage. Objectives, responsibilities and scope are agreed before commitments are made.

Select relevant contexts, partners and formats

We start with the people to be reached and the role different media can play in the project. We assess contextual relevance, editorial fit, format characteristics, inventory availability and the quality of information available for planning.

For partnerships, we define the brand’s contribution: expertise, content, opportunities for dialogue or in-depth materials. The format needs a purpose beyond displaying a logo and should offer a relevant experience to the audiences involved.

We compare proposals and terms, considering costs, distribution, production constraints, frequency, timing and specifications. We avoid equating indicators defined differently by suppliers. Where data does not support reliable comparisons, we make limitations and assumptions explicit rather than presenting estimates as certain results.

Make agreements, budgets and responsibilities transparent

We distinguish media investment, agency activities, partner fees and material production. We negotiate terms within the agreed mandate and share roles, schedules, usage rights and approval stages before activation.

We define whether the project involves advertising, sponsored content, joint production or other forms of collaboration. With the appropriate contacts, we agree how to make the commercial nature of content recognisable and distinguish the agreement from the media outlet’s editorial independence. The investment does not give the brand control over journalistic decisions beyond the agreement.

We coordinate bookings, deliveries, revisions, publication, distribution and reuse within the planned scope. We do not promise organic coverage, attention or guaranteed financial returns. Creative work and graphic or video production remain separate activities, to be agreed within the scope of Advertising and Editorial Production.

When to structure media investment and collaboration

The work can support a campaign, an editorial project or an ongoing plan. It is useful when an organisation needs to choose between opportunities while keeping objectives, costs and responsibilities visible. Partners’ contributions should be consistent with the project, rather than replace its rationale. Needs may include the following.

  • Define advertising distribution consistent with audiences, messages and budgets.
  • Compare proposals, formats, partners and buying terms on a clear basis.
  • Design special features, in-depth content and co-productions with relevant publishers and media outlets.
  • Coordinate materials, approvals, bookings and publication schedules.
  • Clarify fees, rights, distribution and the recognisability of sponsored content.
  • Verify delivery, activities completed and observable outcomes to inform subsequent choices.

How we organise investment and partnerships

  1. 01

    Set up

We agree objectives, audiences, budgets and timing. We gather information about available content and the brand’s contribution, clarifying evaluation criteria, responsibilities and the costs included in the project.

  2. 02

    Plan and negotiate

We assess channels, contexts, formats and partners and prepare a proposal. We define the editorial approach and distribution where included, negotiating terms, costs and rights within the agreed mandate and approvals.

  3. 03

    Buy and coordinate

We manage authorised purchases and agreements and coordinate with media outlets and suppliers. We oversee materials, specifications, revisions and schedules, making changes and the information needed to identify collaborations visible.

  4. 04

    Verify and review

We compare the plan, published materials and actual delivery. We gather available data and feedback, distinguishing distribution, interaction quality and attribution limitations, and share recommendations for subsequent investment and collaborations.

A clear project from proposal to final review

The work may include a media plan, opportunity analysis, partner selection, a collaboration proposal, an editorial approach, negotiation, buying management, operational coordination and reporting. We define which part of the budget covers placements and agreements and which activities require additional resources.

Transparency makes it possible to trace decisions and update choices without losing the overall picture. The value lies in connecting investment, contribution quality, contextual relevance and learning, rather than buying volume or attributing authority to the brand that the project cannot guarantee.
