An intelligence environment built around your work
When data, monitoring and analysis are spread across different tools, the challenge is not simply gathering information: it is being able to use it together.
We design and develop custom platforms that connect sources, analysis, visualisations and operational workflows in an environment aligned with the organisation’s needs. We start with the decisions to support and the people who will use the system.
Rather than proposing a standard product for every context, we define the functions, priorities and ways of working that are genuinely needed.
Connect data and processes, not just screens
A dashboard is useful if it helps people understand what is happening and what needs further investigation. We design paths that connect the overview with the content and sources behind the indicators.
Depending on the users and activities involved, the project may include search, classification, annotations, reports and alerts. We define how information enters the system, is updated and passes between the people responsible.
Integrations are assessed individually, checking data availability, access arrangements, technical compatibility and costs: we do not assume that every source or API can be connected.
Make quality, provenance and limitations visible
A single environment does not automatically make data collected under different criteria comparable. We address definitions, provenance, updates and comparison rules so that visualisations do not conceal important differences.
We agree roles, access, responsibilities and content management arrangements with the relevant contacts. Sources must be available and usable within the project scope; confidential data requires authorisation and agreed rules.
Where automated analysis or AI functions are included, we define checks and human review points. A generated summary is not treated as verified evidence simply because it appears in the platform.
When a custom platform is useful
A bespoke project makes sense when it addresses a clear operational problem. Before development, we also assess what could be resolved by improving existing tools and processes. Needs may include the following.
- Bring together monitoring and analysis currently spread across different reports and environments.
- Provide different users with views and workflows aligned with their responsibilities.
- Make the connection between indicators, original content and analysts’ assessments traceable.
- Organise information classification, review and sharing through a clear workflow.
- Reduce repetitive manual steps where an integration is technically and economically viable.
How we develop the project
-
01
Understand the work
We gather objectives, user needs, sources and constraints. We map existing processes and identify the decisions to support, distinguishing essential requirements from functions that can be introduced at a later stage.
-
02
Design and verify
We define the data structure, user journeys and possible integrations. We use prototypes and concrete cases to check clarity and feasibility with the relevant contacts before finalising development choices.
-
03
Develop and test
We implement the agreed functions and check imports, calculations, visualisations and access against the intended cases. Tests involve users and make anomalies, limitations and operating conditions explicit.
-
04
Adopt and evolve
We support launch with guidance and clearly defined operational responsibilities. We agree maintenance and updates within the chosen scope, gathering feedback to inform any subsequent development of the platform.
A usable and manageable tool
The work may include requirements analysis, information architecture, prototypes, development, selected integrations, dashboards, documentation and adoption support. Functions, deliverables and responsibilities are defined before implementation.
The aim is to make intelligence part of a clear process: understanding where information comes from, how it has been processed and who needs to assess it. Technology supports analysts and decision-makers without replacing the context and judgement needed to use the results.
The system needs to remain understandable after launch too: documenting rules and processes supports discussions between those producing analyses, those maintaining the platform and those using the information.
