Branding

Branding

An identity that makes who you are recognisable

A brand is more than a logo or a set of graphic rules. It is the system of meanings, choices and expressions through which an organisation presents itself and is recognised by the people it engages with.

We help companies and organisations define a clear, coherent corporate identity, connecting positioning, narrative and visual and verbal identity. We start with what the brand can substantiate through its activities, building a distinctive presence without separating promise from experience.

The work can shape a new identity or bring greater clarity and consistency to an identity that has evolved over time.

Define before designing

Strategic choices come before creative solutions. We clarify the role the brand wants to play, the audiences it addresses, the alternatives it competes with and the credible elements on which it can build its differentiation.

We analyse the organisation’s history, offering, competitive landscape, existing materials and available evidence of perceptions. Through discussions with management and the teams involved, we define priorities, personality and areas requiring attention. Positioning becomes a basis for making choices, rather than a slogan that could be applied to any organisation.

Bring words and visual codes together

We translate the strategic direction into a system of expression: messages, tone of voice, narrative themes and visual principles that work together. Visual identity gives the brand a recognisable form through its logo, colours, typography and visual elements. The scope may also include naming and the ways in which the brand describes its offering.

We assess solutions in the contexts where they will actually be used, from digital channels to presentations, editorial materials and internal communication. The aim is not to make every application identical, but to allow the brand to adapt without losing its recognisability and meaning.

Make identity part of everyday work

An identity works when people can use it. We therefore bring together application principles, examples and usage rules in a brand identity manual, a practical tool proportionate to the needs of the teams. We define what needs to remain consistent and where variation is possible.

In rebranding projects, we also address the transition: priorities for updating materials, the coexistence of old and new applications, and how to introduce the change. Involving internal contacts helps prevent the new system from becoming a document disconnected from the organisation’s processes.

When to start a Branding project

Not every change requires a fresh start. Sometimes positioning needs clarification; in other cases, the language needs updating or applications developed without a shared direction need to become more consistent. We establish the level of intervention before designing solutions. The work can be useful in the following situations.

  • Launch a new organisation, offering or project with a clear identity.
  • Support a business transformation or a new positioning.
  • Restructure relationships and hierarchies between brands, products and services.
  • Resolve inconsistencies between visual communication, language and the experience offered.
  • Give teams and partners shared principles for applying the brand.

How we build a brand system

  1. 01

    Explore

We gather objectives, materials and perspectives from the people involved. We analyse the context, audiences, offering and existing identity to distinguish what is worth preserving, what needs to evolve and what creates ambiguity.

  2. 02

    Define

We build the brand’s strategic platform: its role, positioning, distinctive elements, personality and priority messages. We agree on a direction that can guide subsequent choices, making explicit the criteria for evaluating creative proposals and applications.

  3. 03

    Design

We develop the verbal and visual expressions included in the project. We test them through meaningful applications, gather feedback and refine the system, keeping discussion grounded in objectives and conditions of use, rather than personal preferences alone.

  4. 04

    Activate

We prepare guidelines, examples and priority materials to bring the identity into everyday work. We agree responsibilities and arrangements for updates and, where needed, support teams and partners as they adopt the new system.

From brand platform to applications

The project may include a positioning platform, brand architecture, a messaging system, tone of voice guidance, naming, visual identity and application guidelines. Deliverables and the level of detail are defined around the problem to be solved and the resources available.

We work to deliver a usable system, not simply a presentation. A clear identity gives communication teams criteria for making consistent decisions, recognising relevant opportunities and maintaining continuity as the organisation, its channels and its context change.
