Media training

Media training

We prepare managers to handle interviews, public statements, and media exposure with greater awareness, clarity, and effectiveness.

We design media training programs based on real-world scenarios, focusing on messaging, response techniques, and practical simulations. We place a strong emphasis on the role of multimedia, aiming to equip spokespersons to make the most of opportunities across TV, radio, podcasts, and other formats.

Knowing what to say is not enough

Having a thorough understanding of a company, project, or topic does not automatically mean knowing how to discuss it effectively in an interview. Time is limited, questions are beyond our control, and concepts that are second nature within the organization may sound overly technical or difficult for outsiders to grasp. Media training helps transform expertise and information into communication that is clear, concise, and compelling.

Crafting messages that work

We begin with the content the spokesperson needs to convey in order to identify key messages, arguments, examples, and supporting data. We work on the ability to answer questions without losing the thread of the conversation and to steer the interview back to the points that need to be highlighted, while avoiding responses that sound artificial or overly rehearsed.

Tackling difficult questions

The most sensitive issues should not be addressed for the first time in front of a journalist. We identify critical points, objections, and potential pressure points, and prepare the spokesperson to handle them with clarity—avoiding defensive attitudes, evasive answers, or phrasing that could give rise to further issues.

Training on real-life situations

Simulation lies at the heart of media training. We recreate realistic interviews and scenarios, tailoring questions, pacing, and pressure levels to the participant’s role and the context in which they will be communicating. Where appropriate, we use video recordings to jointly analyze content, language, tone, and non-verbal communication.

Learning through feedback

Each simulation becomes an opportunity to identify what works and what can be improved. Feedback is immediately applied in subsequent practice runs, allowing for progressive refinement of conciseness, clarity, confidence, question handling, and the ability to bring out key messages.

Preparing for different media contexts

A television interview, a conversation with a specialist journalist, a statement on the sidelines of an event, or an interview during a crisis all require different approaches. We prepare spokespersons to recognize these differences and to adapt their language, timing, and response style while maintaining message consistency.

Media training for crisis situations

As pressure mounts, so does the risk of poor communication. In our crisis communication programs, we work on critical scenarios, hostile questions, incomplete information, and rapidly evolving events. The goal is to prepare spokespersons before they have to speak in a real-life situation.

Training tailored to the spokespersons

We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Media training is tailored to the individual’s level of experience and role, the topics they need to address, and the situations in which they are most likely to be in the spotlight. We can work one-on-one with CEOs and managers or prepare groups of spokespeople tasked with representing the organization through consistent messaging.
